it's not all work around here. sometimes we take brakes for treats.

the adventures of poopchick and peepchick
jamie and riley tear it up at the skate park.
before you can shred, you have to learn to just sort of roll along.
not only is jamie corn an excellent contractor, he also makes a pretty good play structure.
wherever there is a giant sheet cake with a photo of a cat, there you will find the children, front and center.
mama made a real mess of kale's haircut. good thing calvin was there to make it all right.
first dinner upstairs at our house, complete with glassy, end of the day stares. (it is exhausting people, awesome but exhausting)
we are discussing how big the trees must have been to make those 30' posts and beams. big.
the trees in volunteer park are pretty much perfect for playing command center/spaceship/clubhouse/tree fort. take that, playground equipment.
this pretty much sums up the general mayhem and multitasking involved in moving in to a mostly renovated house.
katrina's entire family came for a work weekend. in true mogielnicki style they got s.h.i.t. done and they brought presents!
any excuse for cake, in this case it's jamie (our amazing contractor) corn's birthday. too bad he didn't make the shot but at least his cake is in the frame.
first dinner downstairs at dean and calvin's, complete with glassy, end of the day stares
in addition to working on the house there are a lot of administrative details involved in moving across the country. here the children enjoy a little light reading in uncle dean's office while mama fights with the fax machine, which doesn't want to send her 15 page fax to the seattle public schools.
even though our official move in date is today (not gonna happen) and we're working on the house pretty much all the time, you still have to take the occasional break to have a laydown in the sunshine.
the real question is: who doesn't want to play a little evening football at lake washington?
this week is lego camp for both kids. here rye displays his awesome pyramid with inset door.
this woman (and her pet turtle) live right across the street from the trader joe's in our neighborhood. seattle is full of surprises.
kale is actually pointing at the starfish but i think the ferry is slightly more impressive.
please notice that uncle dean is wearing a full wetsuit. the water in the puget sound is hella cold, not that the children appeared to notice.
