the evening flotilla on lake washington.

the adventures of poopchick and peepchick
yesterday, macklemore filmed his new video three blocks from our house. we hung out with thousands of other fans for a while but didn't have the stamina to see him in the flesh.
when we're not picking berries we can be found in the bowl at the local skate park. riley is getting really good and everyone is so friendly and supportive (even the teenagers). another plus in the seattle column.
pretty much all we do all day is look for blackberries growing wild and then eat them. seattle = pure berry heaven.
twins!. also we cut the mop off the top of riley's head the next day because he is unwilling to use product.
our trip to rattlesnake late was pretty much perfect, save for the vaguely menacing geese who would not leave us be.
turns out there are a lot of paint colors to choose from. it helps to get really close to the swatches.
the kids watch spellbound as aunt corrina mc's at nama's benefit. there were actually hundreds of adults there but they are all standing behind me, as hubie says: on the blog the kids live in a world free of adults.
here the kids are leaving the powwow dancing grounds and heading over to the tchotchke sellers to badger nama into buying them arrowheads and slingshots.
kale is giving one of his very detailed explanations of the painting he made for great-grandma edna.
there is a fire ban in nm right now because it's so drought stricken this year. but.... because we were camped by a stream, and it had just rained, and what is camping without s'mores, we compromised and made a tiny fire in the grill. the s'mores were delish and we didn't burn down the forest. phew.
this is the part of our camping trip where riley inadvertently locked the keys in the car and AAA had to come all the way out to the ass end of nowhere (seriously we were an hour and a half from taos which is pretty much the middle of nowhere already) to unlock the door.
nama explaines about the stinging nettle that grows all along the river and why a person never wants to touch it.
here, it is very early in the morning and vicki is being an amazingly good listener as riley gives her a blow by blow description of the movie brave.
this is the part of our camping trip where hubie's lawn chair broke as riley exited the tent.
only mama and kale were intrepid enough to ride the chair lift to the top of the ski valley. it was thousands of feet up people, thousands of feet.
taking a 15 minute break after their 5 minutes of hard labor on the shed. also this couch turned out to be the hit of the vacation - acrobatic possibilities abound.
smarty pants sarah instigated a children's bucket brigade to more efficiently clean out nama's garden shed.
julie keeps an eye on the 4th of july kids table. no photos of the fireworks but they were amazing. for real.
