the adventures of poopchick and peepchick
calliope was kind enough to give up her bed during our visit. though, as you can see, there would have been more than enough room for her to join them.
and here we are ruining their young lives by forcing them to walk across the manhattan bridge.
take a close look at calliope's plate and now compare that to riley's. maybe when we live in a city again he'll like dim sum. also kale is under the table at this point eating the plain rice we brought him. sigh.
maybe you thought there weren't giant cliffs to scale in central park. well you were wrong.
the kids have been bugging me for years to visit this statue of balto 'the bravest dog ever', hubie and dean remain unimpressed.
the kids are unhappy about posing for this picture, hubie is unhappy about how i framed the shot and me, well i'm just glad not to be in northampton with all that snow.
we returned from our amazing miami idyll to this b.s. so we promptly repacked our bags and headed to new york.
'no, but listen, mom, you have to come in the water with us.' you can totally see that that's what he's saying, right?
so i'm just going to put them both in and call it done. also it was spring break and there were literally hundreds of thousands of people on the beach and in the water, despite what it looks like in these photos.
having a pretty much awesome time in the cell phone lot waiting for special craig to land.
heading to the park with jeri. and yes riley tucked his shirt in to his shorts because he is that hilarious.
the grandspecial's pool is only 73 degrees right now so this is about as long as his swim lasted.
what's this? drawing comic characters in the sun by the pool in march, why we must be in miami now.
last summer kale couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with an elephant. suddenly he's got his eye on the ball and he can't stop knocking them out of the park.
mama and rye 'get down' while kale actually gets down. (there was awesome music playing at the barn when we went to pick up our winter share and you know how we like a family dance party)
manu gave the kids a cookbook last summer when she visited and suddenly riley is obsessed with making all the recipes with as little adult help as possible. so thank you, manu!
hard at work on their chinese calligraphy. i'm pretty sure kale is writing smiling dragon.
i had to quick snap this photo before they started singing because the second the music starts those sheets go up in front of their faces and it's just a sea of white squares.
