anna and faith came for a visit. riely couldn't get enough of them. sometimes he is a stare bear.

but it seems there are some good things to look forward to as well, like the wibble-wobble-almost-crawl which julius has perfected. 

this particular secret has riley a little bit worried. 

julius is letting riley in on a few of the secrets that happen when you turn 6 months old. 

later that day, at salena and aaron's baby shower, there were lots of big kids to play with. look at that sock monkey.

it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, wearing sunglasses like everyone should... 

after the fair, it was fun to watch the big kids at chevey's in san ramon. notice special katie behind the giant round head of riley's.  

as you can see, the petting zoo is fun for mom AND baby. 

riley demonstrates restraint and doesn't put the sheep in his mouth. 

it seems sheep like a scalp massage as much as the next person. 

at the alameda county fairground, a place of many wonders including a very long slide. 

what if you could you sleep with your feet up by your head? things would be different that's for sure. 

sitting up is a new favorite pastime. 

last night riley fell asleep in the stroller.  

back at the apartment, kolya and riley hang out some more. 

sometimes it's good to space out a little. just let the old eyes go out of focus and presto...

we're not sure if the other baby appreciated riley's explorations as much as we did, but it sure was cute. 

riley still needs a leetle help going down the slide. 

went to a new playground. you'd be amazed at the subtle differences.

riley is a junior scientist for sure. he couldn't get enough of the exploratorium. 

a birthday trip to the palace of fine arts. 

today riley is 5 months and katrina is 28. everyone agrees, jogging is a good way to start a birthday. 

two teeth and a flashy personalized onsie, what more could a 5 month old want? 

for those of you who don't get to carry riley around in the sling - here's a shot of the view once he falls asleep. 

first dinner in the high chair. he's still on the 'all breast milk diet' but sitting up to eat is pretty exciting stuff. 

clearly riley and tracie are best best. they're even wearing coordinated outfits for pete's sake.

those elephants are 28 years old and hung on katrina's crib when she was a baby! we're pretty sure that's why riley likes them so much.

katrina's first day back at work! riley stopped by for a nip and a nap.
